Our Community Money Matters Project

At FISY, we believe everyone deserves help with their money.
We are Sheffield's charity for people with money problems.
We work directly with communities that need the most help.

Who We Are

FISY is the charity part of Sheffield Credit Union. We started in 2005 to help more people in Sheffield with money problems.

Our mission is simple but powerful:

Spreading Financial Education

Building knowledge and confidence

Improving Local Communities

Helping people in Sheffield feel better about money

We give help in person, run workshops, and offer one-to-one support. We work in Sheffield's poorest areas. We help people handle money problems with confidence and respect.

Stop Loan Sharks

Loan sharks are illegal lenders who prey on people when they’re most vulnerable — often charging huge interest and using threats or violence to get their money back.

If you or someone you know is borrowing from someone like this, you’re not in trouble — they are. The Stop Loan Sharks team can help you safely and confidentially.

Proudly Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund

Our Community Money Matters project is paid for by The National Lottery Community Fund. This important money lets us hire our Community Development Manager and Community Champions. They help people with money across Sheffield.

The National Lottery Community Fund gives out money that National Lottery players raise for good causes. Thanks to National Lottery players, millions of pounds go to UK communities every week to help them do well.
