At FISY, we believe everyone deserves help with their money.
We are Sheffield's charity for people with money problems.
We work directly with communities that need the most help.
FISY is the charity part of Sheffield Credit Union. We started in 2005 to help more people in Sheffield with money problems.
Our mission is simple but powerful:
Helping those with money difficulties
Building knowledge and confidence
Helping people in Sheffield feel better about money
We give help in person, run workshops, and offer one-to-one support. We work in Sheffield's poorest areas. We help people handle money problems with confidence and respect.
Comprehensive financial support tailored to your needs across Sheffield's communities
Our Community Champions run classes to teach important money skills. We teach budgeting, saving, and how different money products work. All classes are easy to understand for everyone.
Need personal help? Our team gives private one-to-one support with money problems. We guide you with debt and getting the benefits you deserve.
Come to our regular drop-in sessions at community centres across Sheffield. Our Community Champions give helpful guidance, information and help you find other services.
Loan sharks are illegal lenders who prey on people when they’re most vulnerable — often charging huge interest and using threats or violence to get their money back.
If you or someone you know is borrowing from someone like this, you’re not in trouble — they are. The Stop Loan Sharks team can help you safely and confidentially.
